Facts About: New Research - the POWER study

The newly released results of the POWER Study diabetes chapter reports prevalence and incidence of diabetes (type 1 and type 2 combined), access to care, and disease outcomes at the provincial and LHIN level, by sex and income levels. The summary below focuses on the results for the Champlain region, with comparable Ontario rates included when available. The report statistics presented below were drawn from the Ontario Diabetes Database, the Canadian Community Health Survey, Discharge Abstract Database (CIHI-DAD) and National Ambulatory Care Reporting System (NACRS) and Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP).
